The Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center, Anchorage, AK – Facilitation and content expertise, as well as broad stakeholder and audience input to inform exhibit development and future visitor services for the general science and young learner exhibit areas. Also engaged to facilitate the transition, integration planning and due diligence for the merger between the art and history-focused Anchorage Museum and the Imaginarium Science Discovery Center.
California Science Center, Los Angeles, CA – Strategic planning and facilitation for 50+ member department at the Science Center. Market research, industry analysis, and development of a Business Prospectus for new Center For Science Learning. Envisioning and partnership planning for innovative charter elementary school between the Science Center and the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Great Lakes Science Center, Cleveland, OH – Comprehensive envisioning, market analysis and creation of three-year business plan that streamlines business practices, improves overall visitor experience and financial performance, and guides growth of future outreach initiatives and other new enterprise development.
National Science Center, Augusta, GA – Asset analysis and operations evaluation, Institutional Envisioning facilitation and Business Plan development. Drafted governance structure for renewed public-private partnership, and designed the framework for new enterprise development in the areas of public outreach, educational programming and partner services.
Pacific Science Center, Seattle, WA – Comprehensive strategic business plan development including envisioning, statewide market research and analysis, stakeholder engagement, design of new strategic initiatives, exhibits and facilities development plans.

Foundation For Family Science, Portland, OR – Compiled and edited Family Science, a hands-on science publication targeting families and under-served populations. Facilitated translation and production of Spanish language edition of Family Science. Co-PI with Michigan Technological University and the American Society for Engineering Education on NSF funded project to develop Family Engineering, release date 2010.
National Audubon Society, New York, NY – Two-year planning and launch of a national initiative to develop network of innovative nature centers. Developed the Audubon Center Tool Kit to assist local chapters in developing and operating sustainable, community-based nature centers.
National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, Washington, DC – Researched and developed innovative curricular modules titled Voices of the Bay, featuring the fisheries of Monterey Bay.
National Science Foundation, Washington, DC – Educational materials development and management of a 35-site network to provide community training and materials dissemination for National Science & Technology Week.
Oregon Forest Resources Institute, Portland, OR – Researched and produced two 24 page publications, The Oregon Forest Book – Ecology, Economy and Society and Careers in Oregon’s Forest Sector – Volume 1: Options For College-Bound Students, introducing grade 6 – 12 students and teachers to Oregon’s rich forest resources and career opportunities.

American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), Washington, DC – Multiple projects including surveying and analyzing NSF-funded youth and community programs to establish best practices in informal science education.
Association of Science and Technology Centers, Washington, DC – Front-end, formative, and summative evaluation of C3, a NSF-funded project to promote public understanding of global climate change through local studies of climate phenomena. The project is led by ASTC, and includes partnerships with The Yale Project on Climate Change, Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology, ScienCentral, Inc., and 12 participating science centers.
Four Corners School of Outdoor Education, Monticello, UT – Formative and summative evaluation of a NSF-funded model for teacher professional development that encourages elementary teachers to use inquiry-based and outdoor education approaches to teaching science within their schools.
The Imaginarium Science Discovery Center, Anchorage, AK – Multiple projects, including formative and summative evaluations of the 5-year NIH and Howard Hughes Medical Institute-funded Health and Science Outreach Caravan projects implemented in rural Alaska, and a 5-year NIH-funded health sciences program that includes a summer-enrichment and mentoring program for high school students and a public outreach effort.
National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), Arlington, VA – Multiple projects including formative and summative evaluations of the NSF-funded Linking Science & Literacy, Science Assessment, and Science & English Language Learners conferences, and the weeklong Mickelson-Exxon-Mobil Teachers’ Academy that provides teachers with tools for integrating math and science teaching and fostering inquiry-based learning.
Outreach to Space (SciTech Hands on Museum), Aurora, IL – Front-end (including exhibit evaluation), formative, and summative evaluations for a 3-year NSF-funded collaboration of 10 small science museums across 6 states. The program features the design and implementation of a set of portable exhibits intended to engage hard-to-reach audiences in science-learning.
Utah State University, Logan, UT – Formative and summative evaluation for a pilot project to develop a culturally relevant science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) curriculum and teacher in-service model for grades 4-6, in schools serving Native American students.
Washington State Board of Education, Olympia, WA – Development and implementation of a methodology to review the Washington’s K-12 science standards. The review included a comprehensive review of relevant state and national documents, assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of the standards, an expert panel review to benchmark the standards to exemplar states and nations, and facilitation of stakeholder and public input processes.
